NC: Narrative and Character: Film Review tasks - Adaptation

In light of the season and that I have chosen to write my adaptation peace on the famous story about an elderly gentleman, a miser, a crook, Ebenezer Scrooge. A Christmas Carol was written by Charles Dickens and is a tale about a man who hates Christmas and continues to until his late partner Marley visits him and tells him that he will be visited by three ghosts that will evidently change his life. Each ghost, one from the past, the present and the future show his life in all three perspectives. Changing his view point of the world drastically.

The book is just one story, but there have been many many films that bring this Adaptation to the big screens. Dating back right until as early as 1901, each film depicts the same story but in its own way, with and without music. There has been a Muppet adaptation and a fully animated adaptation. The story has hit home many a time and has never ceased to amaze us.

The first few editions of the movie have had to omit something from the plot to keep the movies short, but as the years progressed and the times that movies can be on the screen got longer more of the story could be stretched out and included. This is evident in the latest creation by Disney created back in 2009. Staring Jim Carey as Scrooge it is my most favourite of the movies, this version of Scrooge includes great effects, stunning voice acting and realistic concepts.

A Christmas Carol (2009) did successfully well in the box office and is well known to date to be the most watched and most loved version of the tale today.
