APB: Concept Art 01
While in wait for assistance on the final skinning of my character, I have been using this time to gather together my designs etc to create my Art of document, this made me realise that I have completely missed out doing concept art for my little guy.
So here is one of him peeking through a bushel at the audience. He's curious and insightful, but at the same time a little nervous to see humans in his forest.

@Alan APB: Character Process: Texturing.
Since Maya has be having significant problems recently, I've only actually managed to apply simple lambert textures to my model as I cannot open the hypershade as it freezes and crashes my program. I still think he looks really good regardless. I'll need to figure out the best method for me next in terms of skinning/rigging him as I am running out of time and the texturing took way to long since the problem with Maya is continuously persisting since Friday evening. Do I need to add a bump and specular map? Would it be simple for me to make a basic rig to allow me to pose the model on its pedestal (when I make it). Also when I save the render image it comes out darker than in the view port so for now I've screen shot the viewport rather than save the image. I've added two spotlights to the scene and tunred Ray t shadows on.

APB: Character Modelling process: Finished model/UV set.
Completed model with UV's, now to make and apply the textures! I'm rather pleased as to how this is turning out, I will actually meet my personal deadline - lets see if I can stay awake first! ONWARDS!

APB: Character Process - I give you.... Odd-Ball
He's finally done, (breathes a sigh in relief) now I can get on and UV him ready to texture him, I'm actually on target! I cannot be more pleased with it and my self! Thank you so much Alan for all the help so far! I bet I will be bugging you more in the next couple of days but in any case I'm doing something (proud smile). ONWARDS!

APB: Character Modelling progress
I used the method Alan showed me to connect the leg part to the trousers, then the leg itself and shoes as well. So far it's worked out well but I will hope to check it checked over before I finish the arms as I'm not confident on making the fingers too. I've shown this to a group of friends who have no connects to the course and they have told me that they find it absolutely adorable, so it's having the right effect.

APB: Character progress - Arm, Torso, Leg
My little guy is progressing quite nicely, I've only got to fix the pants and connect the leg part, leg shaft and shoes together. The shoes need a little work however as I'm not sure how I actually want them to be - flat, rounded or clown like. The only thing left to model is the hand and fingers, which after a few attempts I've seem to be in need of assistance.

@Alan - Update
I added the extra lines, moved the lips so they sit directly on top of each other and opened them a little so the corners are easier to see, is this what you meant?

@Alan - Character Model Progress
I just wanted to know if I'm doing this right, I'm following the tutorial a little as well, I kinda like the lips as they are as they give the impression that hes a cartoon character plus the softness of them adds to the oddness/goofiness.

ADB: Character Modeling Process.
After receiving some magic from Alan, my little odd-ball is starting to take shape, here are some screenshots of the wire and the solid views of his head so far. I dunno what's going on with his left eye, something wrong with the mesh, but I shall figure that one out.

@Alan APB: Character Modelling progress
I've started to model my character and I'm not sure if this is working, plus I am not to sure how to do the ear and mouth, shall I extrude it out (the ear) and shall I extrude the mouth in? When I've tried that it looks sinister not cute. If I mirror it can I export it to mudbox and work on the features there?

ADB: Character Orthographics.
It took me a little while, but I believe that this side view is the best out of the attempts I have tried. I can move on to modelling once I get my laptop back or use the course computers ( as my laptop is going into repair over the weekend.)
